Digital Advertising Predictions

Artificial Intelligience (A.I.)

A.I. being a major development not only in digital marketing but marketing as a whole is something a lot of us have been predicting since its inception. With A.I. making it so easy to generate content whether that be photo/video content or even generating captions for posts, I see it becoming a driving force in the next five years, especially as far as digital marketing goes. In an article published by Wake Forest University on how AI is impacting digital marketing it’s stated that, “By 2030, the worldwide AI market is projected to surpass $1.5 trillion in value. A Fortune/Deloitte survey found that 79% of CEOS “believe generative AI will increase efficiencies, and half of CEOs surveyed (52%) believe it will increase growth opportunities.“”

Privacy-First Advertising

With rising consumer concerns and stricter data privacy regulations being put in place, the shift away from third-party cookies has caused a rise in demand for innovative solutions that prioritize customer privacy while still delivering assessable results. For many years third-party cookies have allowed businesses to precisely track and target potential customers, which was a massive advantage when it came to digital advertising. “The adtech industry has reached a pivotal moment, driven by the deprecation of third-party cookies and evolving privacy regulations” states Gary Drenik, a writer for Forbes covering AI, analytics. As we move into the future, consumers’ expectations for privacy will be at an all-time high. Brands must be aware of that and adapt in order to maintain their competitive edge.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)

When you think of AR or VR you probably think of video games. Although this is true for most people and both have been primarily utilized in the gaming world, I’ve seen a rise in industries and retailers allowing customers to enjoy more immersive shopping experiences. Many major brands like IKEA and Warby Parker use AR and VR now to allow their customers to see what furniture would look like in their home or what a new pair of glasses might look like on before you buy them. All in all I definitely think we could see a major increase in the amount of brands utilizing AR and VR in the future.
